Flight of the Navigator

FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR

Another movie that should be remade is Flight of the Navigator. There are certain movies, books, television shows from my childhood that had a great influence on my mind and the way I think. The flight of the Navigator took my imagination as a child to an amazing place.
The story of flight of the navigator is of this A.I. operated spaceship that is injured, if I remember right, by crashing into power lines. Yeah I know you are thinking this spaceship can be injured by power lines. One it was an eighties film, two it was a kids film and three I could be wrong. It's been years. The A.I. has placed its charts into this boy. I don't remember why. When the boy comes to him he uses him to chart and travel through space and time again. Hence the boy is the navigator.

What I liked about this movie, as a kid, was the idea of operating this amazing ship. Imagine you can go anywhere in the universe, see anything and everything. You can see new forms of life. Which the kid accidently does cause the A.I. has specimens on board the ship.
At the helm of the ship.

Stepping out of the ship. The ship steps would be liquid then solidify. When I was a kid I thought this was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

When the ship went faster it's solid form became like liquid to make it more aerodynamic and slicker. The second coolest thing I ever saw as a kid.

The Last Starfighter

THE LAST STARFIGHTER

Another eighties movie that should be remade is THE LAST STARFIGHTER. This story is a bit crazy but awesome. A young man living in a trailer park plays a arcade game called the Last Star fighter. Come to find out the games is actually a training device, placed by aliens. (Yeah I know, stay with me.) They used the game to find beings from around the galaxy to help in a large war in space. Using space fighters called Gunstars.

The last star fighter arcade game and training device.

Piloting the Gunstar

The Gunstar secret weapon the Death Blossom. When I was a child I thought the Death Blossom was amazing.

I learned there may be a Last Starfighter two in production based on his younger brother in this picture. I think they should remake the movie first.

THE WRAITH MOVIE

THE WRAITH

Hollywood studios have been remaking or taking things from the 80s and making them into movies. I think one movie that needs to be remade is the WRAITH staring Charlie Sheen and Sherilyn Fenn.
This movie has murder, it has drag races, it has aliens or ghost, an alien or ghost supercar, bullies, drugs, and a love story. Done right this could be a blockbuster.

Dodge M4S Turbo Interceptor

The Interceptor was a living car. It's engine had quickening and what looked like a heartbeat. Well best I remember, been some years since I seen this movie. The interceptor was also the most interesting character in the whole damn movie. It had presence.

A possible choice for the new Wraith Interceptor is the Lamborghini Veneno. But would still have to call it Interceptor cause Veneno isn't intimidating.

The two main songs from the movie I could never get out of my head especially Hold on blue eyes by La Marca. So if this movie is remade these two songs would also need an upgrade.
Tim Feehan - Where's the Fire.

La Marca - Hold on Blue Eyes

In the remake the love story may need a bit more depth than the original had.

I always thought the Wraith existed because of aliens. Anyone I knew who watched the movie thought it was aliens too. But I have learned that some think this is a ghost. The ghost thing makes no sense to me but it was an 80 movie so who knows.

P.S. no cameos with Charlie Sheen. If they want to give Sherilyn Fenn a spot that would be cool.
